Carb caps for quartz bangers and dab rigs

A carb cap sits on top of your banger while you dab. It traps heat so your concentrate vaporizes at a lower temperature, and it controls the airflow so you get a fuller hit with less oil left behind. Lower temperature means better flavor and a smoother hit. Without a cap, most people end up running their banger hotter than they need to.

Types of carb caps

• Bubble carb caps: a glass dome with an airflow hole. Simple, works with most bangers, and the easiest place to start.
• Directional carb caps: the airflow hole is angled, so you can point the air around the bowl and push the oil across the hot quartz as you turn the cap.
• Spinner and vortex (Riptide) caps: angled air ports make the air swirl inside the bowl, which spins terp pearls and gives an even melt.
• Slurper and Terpcycler caps: marbles, pills and caps made for those bangers. Pick the one listed for your banger.

Which carb cap fits my banger?

A carb cap has to match the width of your banger’s bowl: too small and it drops in, too big and it won’t seal. Every banger in our shop lists its joint size and bowl size, and every cap lists the bowl sizes it fits. Do I need a carb cap?
You can dab without one, but you’ll waste oil and need more heat. A cap is the cheapest upgrade to flavor you can make.

How do I use a carb cap?
Heat your banger, let it cool for a moment, add your dab, then put the cap on and inhale slowly. With a directional or spinner cap, turn the cap as you inhale to move the oil around the bowl. Lift the cap at the end to clear the rig.

Directional or bubble cap?
A bubble cap is the simple, all-round choice. A directional cap gives you more control and works great with terp pearls, because you can spin them with the airflow.

Do carb caps work with terp pearls?
